Confetti Cookies

Today I have something really special for all of you (drum rolls please, hehe)... Confetti Cookies! 

Yesterday I told you a little bit about Mali, she is super talented and very lovely, so lovely that she made a special cookie recipe for Confetti, you really have to try them, they are spectacular and super easy to make!

Confetti Cookies 

Ingredients:
1/2 cup butter (softened)
3/4 cup sugar
1 egg
2 tsp vanilla
1 1/2 cup flour
1 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp cream of tartar 

Preheat the oven at 350ºF
Cream butter for a few seconds. Add sugar, egg and vanilla, keep beating. Add flour, baking powder, baking soda, and cream of tartar; and beat until all the ingredients are incorporated.  

Make little balls with the dough, and flat them a little bit with your hands, so they keep the circular shape. Place them by at least 2 inches in between.
Bake until the edges of the cookies are lightly golden. Let them cool down and make the glaze.  

For the glaze: mix 1 1/2 cup of powder sugar, 2 tbsp of milk and some lemon drops. (If you want a thicker consistency, just add more powdered sugar). Put the glaze in a decorating bag, drizzle the cookies and add some “confetti” to them.

Hoy tengo algo super especial para todos ustedes (redoble de tambores por favor, hehe)... Confetti Cookies! 

Ayer les hable un poquito sobre Mali, ella es super talentosa y re linda, tan linda que hizo una receta de galletas especial para Confetti, tienen que probarlas son espectaculares y super fáciles de hacer!

Confetti Cookies 

Ingredientes:
1/2 taza de mantequilla (temperatura ambiente)
3/4 taza de azúcar
1 huevo
2 cda de vainilla
1 1/2 taza de harina
1 cda de polvo para hornear
1/4 cda de bicarbonato de soda
1/2 cda de cremor tártaro 

Precaliente el horno a 350 ºF 

Bate la mantequilla durante unos segundos. Añade el azúcar, el huevo y la vainilla, sigue batiendo. Añade la harina, polvo de hornear, bicarbonato de soda y el cremor tártaro; bate hasta que se incorporan todos los ingredientes. 

Haz bolitas con la masa, y aplánalas un poco con las manos, para que mantengan la forma circular. Colócalas por lo menos a 2 pulgadas de separación entre cada una. Hornéalas hasta que los bordes de las galletas estén ligeramente dorados. Déjelas enfriar y haz el glaseado.

Para el glaseado: mezcla 1 1/2 taza de azúcar en polvo, 2 cucharadas de leche y unas gotas de limón. (Si deseas una consistencia más espesa, sólo tienes que añadir más azúcar en polvo). Pon el glaseado en una manga pastelera, haz algunas lineas sobre las galletas y luego decora con el ¨confetti¨.

Wonderful Human Wednesday - *Mali*

¨ I started to cook when I was little, at 12 years I learned to bake cookies. When I was on vacations all I ever did was baking cookies or cakes; always was looking for new recipes or going to my grandmother's house so she could teach me how to bake something, her cakes have always been my favorite! ¨

Maria Alicia (Mali) is a 23 years old girl, dreamer, entrepreneur and super talented. She has always liked sweets, ice creams, cakes and cookies, so she learned to cook when she was little. At age 12, she began to making cookies and selling them at school. At 18 years old opened a candy store called Sweet Bar. Her love for sweets kept growing and took her to want to learn more, so she received several courses of pastries, including the Wilton course in Chicago. 

Women who have inspired her are her mother, grandmother, aunt and nana. A few months ago she started with ¨Butter Love¨ due to the great success her cakes and cookies had whenever she placed them in the candy store. 

Mali's dream is to someday write a cookbook to show her passion for pastries and sweets, as well as for her love of photography.

¨ Empecé a cocinar desde pequeña y como a los 12 años aprendí a hacer galletas. Cuando estaba de vacaciones lo único que hacía era hornear galletas o pasteles; pasaba buscando recetas o iba a la casa de mi abuelita a que me enseñara a hacer algo, sus pasteles siempre han sido mis favoritos! ¨

Maria Alicia (Mali) es una chica de 23 años, soñadora, emprendedora y super talentosa. Siempre le han gustado los dulces, helados, pasteles y galletas, por lo que aprendió a cocinar desde pequeña. A los 12 años comenzó a hacer galletas y las llevaba a vender al colegio, les dije que es super emprendedora; tanto que a los 18 años de edad abrió su primera dulcería llamada Sweet Bar. Su amor por lo dulce siguió creciendo y la llevo a querer aprender más, por lo que recibió varios cursos de repostería, entre ellos el curso de Wilton en Chicago.   

Las mujeres que la han inspirado son su madre, abuelita, tía y nana. Hace algunos meses comenzó con ¨ Butter Love ¨ debido al gran éxito que han tenido sus pasteles y galletas cuando los coloca en la dulcería. 

El sueño de Mali es algún día poder escribir un libro de cocina para poder mostrar su pasión por la repostería y los dulces, tanto como por su amor por la fotografía.

Once Upon a ¨Blog¨

Once upon a time there was a blog with a super weird name called *fadkitart* (fashion, design, architecture and art), this was my first blog, I never continued with it because I was scared and I did not felt ready. 

Now I regret not have continued writing on it because I really love design and art, so I decided to include a little ¨fadkitart¨ into ¨confetti¨. 

Starting from next week Mondays now will be ¨Monday Artday¨ and I will talk a little about art and what inspires me, I hope you enjoy it! 

Érase una vez un blog con un nombre super raro llamado *fadkitart*  (fashion, design, architecture and art), este fue mi primer blog, nunca seguí con él porque me dio miedo y no me sentía lista. 

Ahora me arrepiento por no haber seguido con él porque realmente me encanta el diseño y el arte, por eso decidí incluir un poquito de ¨fadkitart¨ dentro de ¨confetti¨.

¨ Me Time ¨

I love to take a few minutes on the afternoon to listen to my favorite music (I love indie) or read a great book and drinking a cup of coffee or tea, makes me feel super relaxed and inspired. Must of my days are a little bit stressful so I really need to have some ¨ me time ¨.

Me encanta tomar algunos unos minutos durante la tarde para escuchar mi música favorita  (mi favorito es el género indie)  o para leer un buen libro y beber una taza de café o té, me hace sentir super relajada e inspirada. Hello 30´s

Yesterday was my Birthday, Yay! 

What I can say about turning 30 years old?... The truth is that I feel better than ever! In these 30 years I have lived wonderful things and I've had very bad moments too, but those moments are what help us grow and improve as human. I learned so much, I have gone through many changes and I've grown so much. 

In my 30 years I can say that I have learned to love and even to cry, I learned that the most important thing in life is to feel good about ourselves, happiness can not be bought with things, gives us satisfaction of course, I can't deny it ... but I feel knowing that I am able to fight and achieve what I want makes me very happy. 

I am so grateful to have an amazing husband who loves and supports me in everything, to have wonderful parents, brother, family and friends and for having health. I´m in a very happy place right now, I'm ready for new adventures, challenges and want to become a better person every day, I no longer have so many fears or prejudices, just want to live each day to the fullest. So, dear 30's ... I'm ready!

El día de ayer fue mi cumpleaños, Yay! 

Que puedo decir sobre cumplir 30 años?... La verdad es que me siento mejor que nunca! En estos 30 años he vivido cosas maravillosas y he tenido muy malos momentos también, pero esos momentos son los que nos ayudan a crecer y mejorar como personas. He aprendido tanto, he pasado por muchos cambios y he crecido tanto. 

A mis 30 años puedo decir que he aprendido a amar y también a llorar, aprendi que lo mas importante en la vida es sentirnos bien con nosotros mismos, la felicidad no se puede comprar con cosas, claro que nos da satisfacción, no lo puedo negar… pero siento que el saber que soy capaz de luchar y lograr lo que quiero me hace sumamente feliz.  

Estoy tan agradecida por tener un esposo que me ama y apoya en todo, de tener unos padres, hermano, familia y amigos maravillosos y por tener salud. Siento que por fin me siento plena, estoy lista para nuevas aventuras, retos y quiero ser cada día una mejor persona, ya no tengo tantos miedos ni prejuicios, solamente quiero vivir cada día al máximo. Así que, queridos 30´s … estoy lista!
